Wendy Lambourne has an MA in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and is a registered psychologist with the South African Medical and Dental Council.

Much of her early career was spent working for the then largest commercial explosives company in the world. In the 1990s, as a senior organisational development manager, she and her colleagues transformed the organization. The golden thread in this transformation was Etsko Schuitema’s Care and Growth leadership model. The model emanated from seminal research into trust in management in the South African gold mining industry.

Wendy then left the company to dedicate herself to enabling leaders to apply the model in as many contexts as possible.

Over the past 30 years she has become an internationally-recognised authority on practically achieving a fundamental shift from taking to giving at work. Her implementation experience has been in diverse contexts, across many industries, and in many countries.

In 2014 she founded Legitimate Leadership, an international consulting business focused on building organisations characterised by legitimacy, trust, contribution and accountability.

She recently rejoined Schuitema Group, bringing with her new insights which support further developments in the Care and Growth leadership model.
